Appointments

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appointed the retired Air Vice-Marshal, who served 31 years in the Indian Air Force, as its first chief executive officer on 2 September. Mahesh Bhagchandka, Madan Mohan Pandey and Nirmala Yadav were named trustees. The appointments follow allegations of theft of donations at the temple.

The BCCI named Laxman coach for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, assisted by Sunil Joshi, Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Subhadeep Ghosh. Laxman had guided India to the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.

The Central Government appointed Janmejaya Kumar Sinha, Syed Akbaruddin and Annie George Mathew as part-time, non-official Directors on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India. The appointments are for four years with effect from 24 August 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sashidhar Jagdishan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HDFC Bank, will not seek reappointment. The private sector lender said its board has decided to fast- track the process for selecting and appointing his successor well within time.
