Asian Games

The Games began in Aichi-Nagoya on 10 September with Qatar beating Iran 59-35 in men’s basketball. More than 17,000 athletes and officials are taking part across 43 sports, giving the continental event a larger field than the Olympic Games.

The BCCI named Laxman coach for the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, assisted by Sunil Joshi, Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Subhadeep Ghosh. Laxman had guided India to the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
