  1. Forex reserves jump a record $44.9 billion to an all-time high

    The Reserve Bank said on 11 September that reserves rose $44.903 billion in the week ended 4 September to a lifetime high of $785.706 billion, after a $11.475 billion rise the previous week. The kitty had been falling since the West Asia conflict began, as the RBI sold dollars to steady the rupee.

  1. RBI's swap window mobilises over $136 billion

    Foreign exchange inflows under the Reserve Bank of India’s swap facility crossed $136 billion, data released in the first week of September showed. Of the $1,36,377 million raised, $1,27,226 million came through FCNR(B) deposits, $5,260 million through overseas foreign currency borrowings and $3,891 million via external commercial borrowings.
