A Bihar Home Department notification of 3 September requires prior State permission before the Central Bureau of Investigation initiates any investigation, search, interrogation or arrest against a public servant serving under the State government. The same order widens the agency’s ambit over Central employees, Central PSUs and private persons.

The Bhagalpur businessman, known for contesting close to 300 elections across the country, died at a Patna hospital on 3 September. He had campaigned against former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi in Rae Bareli and Rajiv Gandhi in Amethi.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary launched the Vidyarthi Sahyog portal, through which students can send their problems and suggestions directly to the State government. Student support camps will also be organised on the fourth Tuesday of every month to hear grievances in person.
