BSSC CGL

Bihar Staff Selection Commission — Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Competitive Examination · Conducted by Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC)

BSSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is the Bihar Staff Selection Commission’s flagship recruitment exam for graduate-level posts across Bihar government departments. Selection runs in three stages: an objective preliminary paper, a mains exam, and document verification.

Two things about this exam trip up first-timers. The prelims is open book — you may carry one NCERT or BSEB textbook per section, and nothing else. And clearing it takes two separate things: you have to cross your category’s minimum qualifying percentage (40% General, 36.5% OBC, 34% EBC, 32% SC/ST/Women/PwD), and then finish inside the top 5× vacancies for your category. So the bar that actually decides your fate rises and falls with the applicant pool — but it never drops below that qualifying floor.

Eligibility is a degree from a recognised university, with a minimum age of 21.

Pariksha360 tracks every BSSC CGL cycle — syllabus, historical cutoffs, and key dates — so you always know what to study and where you stand against the bar you need to clear.

CGL-4 status: Notified — Advt. No. 05/25. The application window (18 Aug – 17 Sep 2025) has closed; the preliminary exam date has not been announced yet.
